Starting as a selection guide for Horolovar suspension springs, it gradually expanded into a full reference for solving operating problems and identifying clock movements. Given that the latest edition of the guide was published over 30 years ago, it is a testament to its value that it is still the go to reference for most 400 day clock repair.

Good evening! I have this Sessions mantel clock that was allegedly given to my great grandparents as a wedding gift. They were married in 1906. I’m having difficulty locating any information on when this may have been made or what model it may have been. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

The movement has few markings: it says "15cm", there's a logo that looks like two dancing snowmen in an ellipse, and there are some illegible numbers scratched on the outer plate--that's it.

I was given a mantel clock that was just cleaned, but not oiled, and reassembled by the previous owner. Oiling the pivot holes is no problem, but I would like to know if it is possible to lubricate the mainspring without disassembling the entire clock. I understand synthetic motor oil is good...
