In the Gonda building there are old artifacts on display, but I would call the main Mayo number 507-284-2511 and ask for the Public Relations office or the Patient Affairs office. I’d try Public Relations first. I believe there is a walking tour, during which the docent tells the history of the Clinic, but I think the artifacts are spread out to all the buildings. Our Anesthesia classroom even has bleeding bowls and such things. Funny, I worked here for 25 years and don’t know the exact and full answer to this.

According to the website, the Historical Suite on Plummer third floor is open without charge to patients, visitors and staff for self-guided tours weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, General Service offers tours of the Mayo Clinic Historical Suite. Tours begin in Judd Hall, subway level of the Mayo Building, at 10:00 am weekdays. There is an information kiosk in the subway of the Gonda building where you can get more information. I know that I have had friends visiting that were not patients or family members who took the general tour so you should be good to go. You will learn a lot!
