California has sued the Trump administration over its efforts to block access to federally funded public benefit programs to undocumented immigrants.

The Trump administration on Thursday sued New York City over local laws that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, saying the statutes unlawfully thwart immigration arrests and conflict with federal immigration law.

The Justice Department on Thursday filed a lawsuit against New York City and the city’s leaders for impeding the Trump administration’s immigration actions.
