Notre Dame’s could push them past Penn State in the next CFP rankings. Here’s why the Irish might deserve the edge.

Penn State is likely to hold its enviable No. 4 ranking following its road win vs. Minnesota. The teams ranked directly above the Lions either earned convincing victories (Ohio State, Texas) or did not play (Oregon). There was plenty of movement right behind PSU, though, starting with losses by Indiana and Alabama.

Indiana slid to 10th in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings. The Hoosiers’ tumble down the top 25 comes on the heels of the 38-15 loss they suffered to No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus last week.
