The baseball world lost an all-time legend on Monday, as Chicago Cubs second baseman Ryne Sandberg died at age 65. He announced in January 2024 that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer.

On Tuesday, Chicago Cubs fans and team employees visited Ryne Sandberg’s statue on monument row in Gallagher Way to pay their respects to the late Hall of Famer.

Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg, who was a fixture at the position for the Chicago Cubs, has died at the age of 65.
