Arizona’s often spent on the wrong pitchers at the wrong times. The $210 million Corbin Burnes contract may break that slump.

The Arizona Diamondbacks unveiled their newest star, right-handed pitcher Corbin Burnes, on Wednesday. Burnes, who signed a reported six-year, $210 million contract with the D-backs in December, is ecstatic for this new chapter in his career.

As revealed today during Burnes’ introductory press conference, the concept of Burnes joining the D’Backs also seemed unlikely to all parties involved at the start of the offseason.
