Chicago residents are cleaning up after strong storms with hard rains caused flash flooding Friday, especially on the South Side.

Another day of scattered heavy thunderstorms inside what forecasters called a juicy, "tropical-like" air mass Saturday has renewed the risk of flash flooding across several states from Iowa to Pennsylvania,

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Chicago, urging 600,000 residents to take precautions. More rain is expected overnight, with storms anticipated Saturday afternoon. Residents were seen wading through knee-deep water amid the severe weather disruptions.

While some storms will start impacting the region this evening, rainfall is likely to intensify overnight. With humidity remaining at very high levels, any precipitation could quickly turn to torrential rainfall.

Chicago faced severe flooding, funnel clouds, and Con Friday, with more storms expected Saturday, capping a week of intense weather and power outages.
