Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway appears to have avoided serious injury following a scary collision in Thursday night's 5-4 overtime loss at Pittsburgh.

The Philadelphia Flyers lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 in overtime on Thursday night. Despite both teams sitting well outside of the playoff picture, the Keystone State Rivalry still delivered. Evgeni Malkin’s four points led Pittsburgh to victory but was not the headline of the game.

You won’t like John Tortorella when he’s angry. The Flyers head coach was thrust into the forefront on Thursday night after forward Garnet Hathaway was the victim of a blindside hit from the Penguins’ Bokondji Imama that left Hathaway shaken up on the ice before getting assistance and exiting the game.

A division rivalry gave way to a scary situation on Thursday night when a groggy Garnet Hathaway was escorted from the ice late in the second period of his Philadelphia Flyers’ tilt with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Boko Imama caught Garnet Hathaway off guard, but the officials only gave him a two-minute minor penalty. John Tortorella was absolutely livid, calling Imama’s hit “one of the dirtiest he’s seen in a while.
