Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen says he "lost all respect" for Mercedes driver George Russell after an incident between them in qualifying cost him pole position on the grid for the Qatar Grand Prix.

A furious Max Verstappen said he has “lost all respect” for George Russell and accused him of being two-faced after the drivers were involved in a public spat ahead of Sunday’s Qatar Grand Prix. Verstappen was stripped of pole position in the early hours of Sunday morning after the stewards said he impeded Russell as both men geared up for their hot laps in the final phase of qualifying.

Verstappen was unhappy with the role Russell, who rose from second to first on the grid, had played in the decision.
