The risk of life-threatening flooding is still high in central Texas with more rain on the way. The urgent search for the missing continues following a holiday weekend deluge that killed at least 82 people including children at summer camps.

As Texas wakes up, we are resuming our coverage of the rescue mission in central Texas - after flash floods hit the area in the early hours of Friday morning. At least 51 people have been killed, including 15 children, as hundreds of rescuers have been deployed to search for those missing.

In Kerr County, which has been the most impacted, at least 43 people are dead and 27 children remain missing tonight after floodwaters swept through Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls. The statewide death toll thus far stands at 51 people. The number of deaths blamed on the flooding in Texas has risen to 51 tonight.
