Golf Channel will be a part of a new venture after Comcast announced plans to spin off its cable TV networks.

Comcast announced Wednesday that it is creating a new publicly traded company comprising a portfolio of NBCUniversal cable networks, which include USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, E!, SYFY and the Golf Channel. Several other digital platforms—which includes the tee-time aggregation site, GolfNow—will also be lumped into the venture.

Comcast is spinning off into a new company many of the cable television networks that were once at the entertainment giant's heart as consumers increasingly swap out their cable TV subscriptions for streaming platforms.
