Defending U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau will not see the weekend at Oakmont, but several of his LIV Golf comrades will.

The 2025 U.S. Open Golf Championship continues on Saturday, June 14 with the third round taking place at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa.

The 18-hole layout is nearly 7,500 yards long and hilly, with three par-3 holes longer than 200 yards alongside one par-5 that exceeds 600. Then there are the especially sandy bunkers and the New York crowd that can be, well...a New York crowd.

Surges On Day 2 With Strong Performance

On Wednesday, the U.S. Golf Association announced that the purse for the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club would remain $21.5 million with the winner taking home $4.3 million. It's the largest prize in professional golf outside of the PGA Tour's Players Championship and Tour Championship,

Some of the world’s most recognizable names in golf, including defending champion Bryson DeChambeau, won’t be around at the US Open this weekend after missing the cut at the brutal Oakmont Country Club.

There's no such thing as a quick 18 holes at the U.S. Open, particularly when it's at Oakmont. Players needed more than 5 1/2 hours or more to get through each of the opening two rounds, much slower than what they might find at a regular tour stop.
