When Adrian Simancas climbed into his kayak to paddle through the Strait of Magellan, the kayaker didn't expect to end up inside a humpback whale's mouth.

A 24-year-old kayaker in Chile was briefly swallowed, and subsequently regurgitated, by a humpback whale in an unusual encounter his father caught on camera.

A kayaker off the Chilean Patagonia had a very close encounter with a humpback whale. On Feb. 9, Adrian Simancas, 24, was kayaking with his father, Dell Simancas, in the Bahía El Águila area of Chile, near the San Isidro Lighthouse in the Strait of Magellan, when the pair spotted a whale. The whale then briefly “gulped” up Adrian and his kayak.

Talk about catch of the day. A kayaker had a close encounter with a humpback whale when he was briefly swallowed before being quickly released. The incident, caught on camera, quickly spread across the internet.
