The Green Bay Packers made a significant change as they released star cornerback Jaire Alexander Monday after seven seasons with the team. The two sides had been exploring trade options throughout the offseason, but nothing came to fruition and ultimately the Packers decided to move on.

Following news on Monday morning that the Green Bay Packers have released veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander, Miami Dolphins ' social media was rife with reactions. Alexander, who has injury history, played in just seven games in each of the last two seasons, missing a total of 20. In 2021, Alexander saw just four games of action.

When healthy, Jaire Alexander is one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL. The eighth-year pro has been named to a pair of Pro Bowls, and last year the 28-year-old allowed a passer rating against of less than 90 for the fifth time in seven years.

The Miami Dolphins have been looking to trade cornerback Jalen Ramsey since April. Ramsey is still with the team; however, he's not at mandatory minicamp this week, nor does head coach Mike McDaniel expect him to be there.
