There was some speculation that a legendary college coach was in the mix for the New York Knicks' vacant head coaching job, but that won't be the case.

Jay Wright is enjoying retirement and won’t be the next head coach of the Knicks. And one of his former players is happy for him. “Man Thank You. Stay retired!” Knicks and former Villanova guard Josh Hart said on social media.

The Knicks are apparently targeting experienced NBA head coaches in their search. They're reportedly expected to request permission to interview Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd. The Houston Rockets have already declined a similar inquiry regarding their coach, Ime Udoka.
