Herbstreit’s beloved golden retriever had become somewhat of a celebrity through frequent appearances on ESPN’s “College GameDay” and in the broadcast booth.

Kirk Herbstreit is introducing his 'College GameDay' peers to his pup Peter, who got to sniff around the show's set and make some new friends. Herbstreit previously announced on Nov. 7 that his dog Ben had died after the golden retriever's cancer spread.

Kirk Herbstreit's dog, Ben, had been a staple wherever the announcer appeared. He could be seen wagging his tail on ESPN's "College GameDay" and Herbstreit would bring him up during "Thursday Night Football" broadcasts on Amazon Prime Video.
