A 40-year-old woman was taken to a hospital Sunday night after a scorpion stung her while she was retrieving her luggage at the baggage claim area at Boston Logan International Airport. Boston Emergency Medical Services took the woman to an area hospital by ambulance just before 7 p.m., they said in a statement to NBC News.

A 40-year-old woman was stung by a scorpion last night while grabbing her luggage off the baggage carousal at Logan International Airport in Boston. The traveler, who had just flown in from Mexico, was in Logan's international baggage claim area when she was stung on the finger,

“At approximately 7:30 p.m., a 40-year-old female was stung by a scorpion while retrieving luggage in the baggage claim area of customs,” police said in a statement. “The female party was transported to an area hospital for treatment.”
