Governor Maura Healey released a statement about the ongoing teachers strike in Beverly and Marblehead saying that students need to be back in school on Monday even if negotiations continue.

After being out of the classroom for more than two weeks, students in Gloucester, one of the three North Shore communities hit with a teachers’ strike, will return to school on Monday.

Marblehead Education Association Jonathan Heller was hopeful that face-to-face negotiations Monday will lead to agreements.

Governor Maura Healey released a statement about the ongoing strikes in Marblehead and Beverly. She said that she had spoken to everyone involved and thinks an agreement will be reached this weekend.
