Knies has tallied eight goals and four assists through 20 games, giving him 12 to date — good for fifth-best on the Maple Leafs. Meanwhile, Domi has six assists and a 48.0 percent faceoff success rate in his first 19 outings and was beginning to build chemistry with Knies and Nylander on the second line before disaster struck.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without forward Max Domi until at least Sunday, as he joins superstar Auston Matthews on the shelf.

Domi has been playing through a lingering lower-body injury while Grebenkin is expected to make his NHL debut.
