A pedestrian was hit and killed by an NJ Transit train in Middletown on Wednesday morning. The man was hit at 7:25 a.m. in the area of the Normandy Road bridge, just south of the Middletown station, NJ Transit said.

NJ Transit rail passengers heading into or out of Penn Station New York are facing delays of up to an hour Monday morning. The railroad said the delays are due to Amtrak overhead wire issues near Newark Penn Station.

While an NJ Transit train was involved in Monday's wire issues that stopped morning rail service and resulted in delayed and cancelled trains in the evening, the exact cause is still being investigated.
