NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - We now know the name of the pilot who died following a plane crash in Norfolk, Nebraska on Monday. On Monday, Oct. 7, at about 7:40 p.m. authorities were called to the Norfolk Regional Airport for a plane crash.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Norfolk Police have identified the pilot who died from a crash in northeast Nebraska on Monday. Police have now identified 37-year-old Philip K. Widner, from Bedford, Texas, as the pilot who died in a plane crash near the Karl Stefen Airport.

One person died in a plane crash Monday evening in Norfolk. At 7:38 p.m., Norfolk dispatch was alerted to the crash, which occurred near West South Airport Road, about a half-mile west of 13th Street in southwest Norfolk. The aircraft was a small commercial plane that frequented the area, said Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer.

A pilot died after the person's plane crashed near the Norfolk airport Monday night. Shortly after 7:30 p.m., Norfolk police officers, firefighters and medics along with deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at Karl Stefan Memorial Field.
