OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WEVV) — City officials are providing residents with instructions on debris cleanup after a tornado hit Oakland City. During the severe weather event late Friday night into early Saturday morning, National Weather Service officials confirm Oakland City experienced EF-2 tornado damage, with estimated peak winds of 117 mph.

At least four tornadoes hit the Chicagoland area overnight amid severe storms, according to the National Weather Service. The storms have downed trees and powerlines across the area, with Paulding County being one of the hardest hit areas.
