Many of golf’s top players teed off in Memphis on Thursday as the PGA Tour began its 2025 FedExCup Playoffs with the St. Jude Championship.

The FedEx Cup Playoffs have varied in their level of predictability over the last few years with the 2025 edition likely to fall into a more unpredictable category. With the PGA Tour in May announcing a change to the Tour Championship format that will allow all 30 golfers in the postseason final to start at a level playing field,

The PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs begin on Aug. 7 with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at the TPC Southwind in Memphis. Except No. 2 Rory McIlroy, all of the players among the top 70 on the points list are present and ready to go. Cameron Young's victory last week in the Wyndham Championship capped the regular season.
