Johnny Gaudreau's wife, Meredith Gaudreau, has just made a stunning public statement involving Monahan. It shows how incredible he is as a person and a true friend. As you know, a few months ago, a tragedy struck the Gaudreau family, as Johnny and Matthew died suddenly under sad circumstances.

When Columbus honored him earlier this season, Monahan and the Blue Jackets took the ice for the opening faceoff down a man. The left wing position, where Gaudreau would have aligned, was left vacant, a tribute to Gaudreau and among the most memorable scenes in Nationwide.
