KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - State leaders are warning of a dangerous gang that formed in prisons in Venezuela called Tren de Aragua that has been spotted in all major cities in Tennessee. TBI Director David Rausch said the gang has been known for human trafficking and bringing Venezuelan women to the United States and Tennessee illegally.

In Operation Crime and Justice, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is sounding the alarm about a Venezuelan gang they say is operating in major cities across Tennessee. The TBI director warned the Venezuelan gang is in full force and on a path to increased violence,

The violent Venezuelan gang "Tren de Aragua" has resurfaced in Tennessee cities, involved in various crimes including human trafficking and confrontations with cartels.

According to Rausch, a Venezuelan gang named "Tren de Aragua" has been spotted in metropolitan areas across the Volunteer State.

TBI Director David Rausch told Governor Bill Lee that Venezuelan gang "Tren De Aragua" or "TDA," is currently behind human trafficking rings, drug trade, and organized retail theft cross the state of Tennessee.
