Garfield Township — A Walmart store where 11 people were stabbed Saturday in what appeared to be random attack by a Cheboygan man remained closed Monday, though community members were rallying together to support one another.

Eleven people were injured in a “random” stabbing by a suspect man with a folding knife-style weapon at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, Saturday, according to the Grand Traverse County sheriff.

Bradford James Gille, 42, is suspected of traveling from his home nearly 100 miles away to perpetrate the stabbing attack at the Walmart store in Garfield Township, just outside of Traverse City. He is slated to be arraigned soon on criminal charges that include attempted murder and terrorism.

By the time an employee in the checkout area yelled about a man with a knife, it was too late. Nearly a dozen people had been stabbed at the busy Walmart in Traverse City, a tourist town on the shore of Lake Michigan, by a man who appeared to have attacked people at random, the sheriff said.
