The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) offers several services to Aadhaar holders. However, the process of changing your name on the Aadhaar card has now become more complicated than it was previously.

According to the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations, 2016, "An Aadhaar number holder may, on completion of every period of 10 years from the date of generation of the Aadhaar number assigned to him, update the documents or the information evidencing proof of identity and proof of address, at least once, by submitting an application."

The Unique Identification Authority of India has announced that any updates to Aadhaar cards made after the December 14 deadline will incur a fine of Rs 50. UIDAI has urged all affected Aadhaar holders to complete the revalidation process by submitting the necessary documents.

The central government has advised Aadhaar holders to update their Aadhaar documents every 10 years to ensure the accuracy of the database and improve service delivery. The update can be done free of charge online via the myAadhaar portal until December 14,
