Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique, the son of late politician Baba Siddique, is trailing from Vandre East in Mumbai as votes are being counted for the Maharashtra assembly elections.

Zeeshan, son of Baba Siddique, who contested from Vandre East Assembly constituency, which covers Mumbai's Bandra East, is currently trailing against Varun Sardesai who is Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aadithya Thackeray's nephew.

Zeeshan Siddique, 32, is a politician from the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party and is currently leading. He contested the 2019 Maharashtra assembly election from a Congress ticket from the Vandre East assembly constituency and won. He is contesting in the same constituency this time but from an NCP ticket.

While Zeeshan Siddique relied on his father’s legacy and a potential sympathy wave, Varun Sardesai looked to consolidate Shiv Sena (UBT) votes and tap into the Congress vote base from the MVA alliance. Trupti Sawant of the MNS may also influence the outcome by drawing Marathi votes.

The Bandra East constituency in Mumbai witnessed a fierce contest between Zeeshan Siddique of the NCP, Varun Sardesai from Shiv Sena (UBT) and Trupti Sawant from the MNS. Voters cast their ballots on November 20 with a turnout of 50.
