The Virginia Department of Health is reporting two children have died from complications from influenza, including a young child in the eastern part of the state.

The VDH reported on Monday that there were two influenza-associated pediatric deaths, which are the first reports of the 2024-25 flu season in Virginia.

Two children in Virginia have confirmed to have died in connection to influenza, more commonly referred to as the flu. One death was in Virginia's Eastern Region.
