As Washington recovers from the bomb cyclone that hit the state earlier this week, another storm is expected to bring rain, heavy winds.

Strong winds and heavy rain is expected to cause life-threatening flooding over several days in Northern California.

On Thursday, rain poured across the northern edge of the state, slowly moving south. Santa Rosa Airport saw 4.93 inches of rain, shattering its previous daily record in 2001 of 0.93 inches.

A third winter storm is on its way to California, with forecasts anticipating that it will hit the Golden State on Friday, only days after a bomb cyclone unleashed hurricane-force winds across the Pacific Northwest and an atmospheric river brought a deluge of rain and snow.
