Apple released the public beta of watchOS 26 last Thursday, two days after developer beta 4. Instead of immediately publishing a preview of watchOS 26, I took the time to review the OS again to ensure my preview accurately reflected the version released as a public beta.

WatchOS 26 brings the Liquid Glass look, helpful Smart Stack hints, and easier Workout app customizations to your Apple Watch. I took the beta for a spin, and here's what I'm liking.

Once you've upgraded to the iOS 26 beta on your iPhone, open the Watch app, scroll down, and tap General, followed by Software Updates. Next, select Beta Updates. On the next screen, tap to the right of "watchOS 26 public beta update." This should place a yellow checkmark next to it.
