Wolfsburg has moved into fifth spot in the Bundesliga thanks to a late double from Jonas Wind. Mainz was ahead three times in a memorable encounter but Wind scored in the 84th and fourth minute of stoppage time to give home side Wolfsburg a 4-3 victory.

Wolfsburg substitute Jonas Wind scored twice, including a stoppage-time winner, as visitors Mainz took the lead three times but lost 4-3 in a Bundesliga blockbuster on Sunday. Freiburg later had the chance to leapfrog the fifth-placed Wolves but drew 1-1 at lowly Hoffeheim.

Wolfsburg responded 8 minutes later as Tiago Tomas ran down the left. The Portuguese received some good fortune as his cross deflected to Mohamed Amoura to tap in with ease. The drama continued as Bo Svensson received a yellow card as he appealed to Timo Gerach for a foul by Maxi Arnold on Paul Nebel.

Jonas Wind scored a brace inside the final 10 minutes to secure a comeback 4-3 win for Wolfsburg at home to Mainz, sending the Wolves up to fifth in the Bundesliga.
