Virginia Tech offensive lineman Xavier Chaplin committed to the Auburn Tigers on Sunday from the transfer portal. The 6-7, 323-pound offensive tackle started every game for the Hokies over the last two seasons after redshirting his freshman campaign in 2022.

Hugh Freeze and the Tigers officially signed former Virginia Tech offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin on Tuesday, giving the Tigers an experienced starter at offensive tackle. He comes to Auburn after spending three seasons with the Hokies.

Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thorton and the Tigers have added a pair of experienced offensive tackles from the power-four ranks; Xavier Chaplin from Virginia Tech and Mason Murphy from USC.
