Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available day one in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a first for the series since Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard King. Piscatella notes that non-mobile video game subscription spending for the month rose 16%, largely thanks to Xbox Game Pass.

Following Black Ops 6 on the sales charts was Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, which is now the fourth best-selling game of the year so far, the best-selling Dragon Ball game in the U.S., and the third best-selling Bandai Namco game in history. Only Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3 have done better from Bandai's portfolio.

The Game Pass move had a huge impact on Microsoft’s main competitor, Piscatella said, because PlayStation platforms “accounted for 82 percent” of BO6 full game dollar sales in October.
