YouTube TV subscribers will keep access to CBS, Nickelodeon, and more than 20 other Paramount-owned channels — for now. Google and Paramount Global have reached a short-term extension to keep Paramount's channels available for YouTube TV users.

CBS, Comedy Central and MTV are among the Paramount Global channels scheduled to go dark on YouTube TV Thursday night.

YouTube TV subscribers braced for the loss of popular programming as negotiations for a new distribution contract went down to the wire. Google said it would offer customers an $8-a-month credit to compensate for the outage.
