PHOENIX — A now-bankrupt furniture store is closing all of its roughly 370 locations across the country, including seven in the Valley.

Liquidator Hilco Consumer-Retail announced the shuttering of 328 locations nationwide and the start of store-closing sales.

American Freight plans to close storefront locations, including in Houston, as its parent company, Franchise Group Inc., has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. A popular furniture store is closing more than 300 locations nationwide, including one in Austin. The Ohio-based chain American Freight is shutting down 30 locations in Texas, including its lone Austin storefront in northwest Austin at The Shops at Anderson Arbor.

American Freight has more than 300 locations, including stores in Cranston, Fairhaven and Fall River. The discount retail chain sells furniture sets, appliances and mattresses. Its parent company declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
