People who visited Lego's website on the evening of October 4 were welcomed by a banner with illustrated golden coins bearing the company's logo, claiming that the "Lego coin" is now officially out. It even promised "secret rewards" to those who'd buy some.

Toy manufacturer LEGO Group has reportedly removed a "LEGO Coin" token scam that briefly appeared on its homepage after being hacked on Oct. 5, reports state. X user and LEGO enthusiast “ZTBricks” was among the first to spot the scam,

Hackers hijacked the LEGO website and put up a banner urging users to buy a fraudulent cryptocurrency associated with the toy manufacturer. When users clicked the banner, it directed them to a decentralized exchange where they could buy the scam tokens with Ethereum.

The LEGO store is officially the victim of a new scheme, as the website was hacked as part of a major financial scam meant to target users.
