McBride, the first transgender-identified individual elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, has agreed to refrain from using women's facilities amid an ongoing debate about female-exclusive spaces on Capitol Hill following his election.

G.O.P. lawmakers whose leaders have pressed to roll back transgender rights around the country moved to bar Sarah McBride, the first transgender member of Congress, from women’s rooms on Capitol Hill.
