The Kremlin is rejecting reports that President Vladimir Putin spoke last week with President-elect Donald Trump about the war in Ukraine, and a spokesman for Trump refused to comment on what he called his “private calls” with world leaders.

"As much as I would like to believe we can negotiate with a tyrant, I suspect we may be deceiving ourselves," Sen. Mike Rounds said. Rounds also said he wished the U.S. had sent more weapons to Kyiv.

Mike Rounds, the main ally of President-elect Donald Trump in the Senate, opposed negotiations on a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. He said that the Kremlin could not be trusted, reports Politico.
