Met Office weather warnings suggest the UK is set to be battered by gusts in excess of 90mph from Storm Éowyn as a low pressure system sweeps - also bringing heavy snow according to the latest weather

The most aggressive winds are expected in the north of England and in parts of Scotland, with meteorological maps showing the storm hitting parts of the UK, including Plymouth, as early as 4am. Between 7am to 8am, winds of up to 69mph will be moving through much of the south west including Bristol and Bath.

“The strongest gusts are likely to be felt across parts of Northern Ireland, northern England, northwestern Wales and western Scotland, where exposed sites could get gusts in excess of 80mph, which has the potential to cause impacts for those in these areas. There will also be some heavy rain, bringing some unpleasant conditions to end the week.
