U.S. health officials say at least 15 people in Minnesota have been sickened by E. coli poisoning tied to a national recall of more than 160,000 pounds of potentially tainted ground beef.

At least 19 Minnesotans fell ill from E. coli linked to a national recall of over 167,000 pounds of ground beef. Restaurants across Minnesota were affected, and four cases required hospitalization.

Wolverine Packing Co. on Wednesday recalled over 167,000 pounds of ground beef products due to the risk that the meat could have E. coli present in it.

A Michigan company recalled more than 165,000 pounds of ground beef due to potential E. coli contamination. Wolverine Packing Co. officials said approximately 167,222 pounds of ground beef had been recalled,

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a nationwide recall of roughly 167,277 pounds of ground beef products.
