Chandigarh: Punjab police on Saturday claimed to have nabbed two persons from Amritsar and recovered eight sophisticated pistols from them. Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, Gaurav Yadav said that those arrested have been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Nikku and Gurwinder Singh alias Gandhi,

Those arrested have been identified as Jagjit Singh, alias Nikku, and Gurwinder Singh, alias Gandhi, both residents of Kaulowal village in Amritsar.

Amritsar Police's Counter Intelligence unit detained two individuals implicated in the smuggling of weapons from Pakistan. Arrested in Gharinda, Amritsar district, they were waiting for an accomplice.

“The Punjab Police have arrested two people after eight sophisticated pistols smuggled into the country from Pakistan were found in their possession,” a top officer said on Saturday (November 30, 2024.) “They were held from Nurpur Padhri in Amritsar,” Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said.
