Of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 ended in the green. M&M, ICICI Bank, JSW Steel, L&T and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers on Sensex, rising up to 5.57%.

India's NSE Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex are trailing only Wall Street's Nasdaq and S&P 500 as top-performing indexes this year, with analysts expecting the rally to extend into 2025.

The broader markets underperformed the benchmark indices as the BSE MidCap and the SmallCap indices ended 1.16% and 1.37% higher respectively.
