An apology to the BYU men’s basketball program was issued from the X account belonging to the Providence athletic director for “unacceptable chants” during Tuesday night’s game at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, R.I.

At the PC Men's Basketball game against BYU on Tuesday night, students repeatedly chanted “F the Mormons.” Steven Napolillo, the athletic director at Providence College, took to X Tuesday night to apologize.

Providence College athletics director Steve Napolillo apologized to BYU’s basketball team after an offensive chant broke out at Amica Mutual Pavilion on Tuesday night. During the first half of BYU’s 83-64 loss to Providence, some fans started chanting “F--- the Mormons.” A video of the chant was posted to social media.
