A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of the Denver metro and eastern Colorado until 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Thunderstorms will move through some areas Tuesday afternoon and evening, but the focus of Tuesday's forecast is on Wednesday, a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day. Meteorologist Liz McGiffin looks at how hot it will get.

Denver will see another hot and sunny afternoon Tuesday with smaller chances for an afternoon out across the eastern plains.
