A judge on Tuesday denied a Maui anesthesiologist’s request to be released on bail while he fights an attempted murder charge on allegations that he tried to kill his wife on a Honolulu hiking trail.

An Hawaiin judge denied bail to an anesthesiologist who allegedly tried to kill his wife while the two were hiking on Oahu's Pali Lookout trail in March.

Gerhardt Konig remains jailed after prosecutors argued that he's dangerous and fled from police after attacking his wife on a popular hiking trail.
