The PCB has dismissed speculation that former captain and politician Imran Khan's name would be removed from an enclosure at the recently-renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore owing to his imprisonment on charges of corruption.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that no names have been changed or removed from the enclosures at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore after reports said that former captain Imran Khan's name has been removed due to the current political upheavals in the country.

The board has strongly rejected any notion of having removed the Imran Khan enclosure despite the former Prime Minister getting sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment over a corruption case. The case for which Imran has been sentenced to imprisonment involves he and his wife being accused of receiving a parcel of land as bribe from a real estate businessman via the Al-Qadir Trust established when he held the office.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has dismissed speculations of removing legendary cricketer Imran Khan’s name from an enclosure at the recently renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Speculations were doing rounds that PCB had removed the name of the 1992 World Cup winning captain from one of the enclosures at the stadium due to current political situation.

PCB stated they have not made any changes regarding the structures or names of the stadium. This assurance has been given while preparing the venue for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.
