Maryland men's basketball was No. 25 last week in the AP Top 25 poll. But it was another successful week for the Terrapins on the court. Maryland first traveled to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers and defeated them 83-75 with big help from freshman center Derik Queen.

Without Owen Freeman, Drew Thelwell and Riley Mulvey, the Hawkeyes put on an inspired first-half performance. Seydou Traore scored 14 points. Pryce Sandfort had 13 off the bench. At halftime, the Hawkeyes led by four against a Maryland team with only one loss at home all season.

Defensively, Iowa forced 11 Maryland turnovers, including six steals and two blocks. Unfortunately for Iowa, Maryland shot an efficient 39-for-67 (58.2%) from the floor, 12-for-26 (46.2%) from deep, and 11-for-13 (84.

Iowa was run off the court in the second half, losing in blowout fashion at Maryland, 101-75. The Hawkeyes actually led at halftime from inside the XFINITY Center, 51-47, but then the wheels came off in the game's final 20 minutes.

Despite scoring 47 points in the first half, No. 25 Maryland men’s basketball trailed Iowa by four, in jeopardy of dropping a crucial home game to an inferior and injured opponent. But Rodney Rice opened the second half with eight unanswered points.
