There was a vigil on Friday night for 6-year-old Joshua Al-Lateef. A small group of folks went back to light a candle in memory of the little boy. Almost all of them were there on Thursday when they learned about the tragic conclusion. A day later, a handful of them regrouped to remember him.

Following a 28-hour extensive search of the area, divers pulled Joshua Al-Lateef Jr.'s body from a pond near his building. Joshua had autism and was nonverbal. In a frantic 911 call, his mother told the dispatcher the boy was drawn to water but had never gone near the pond behind their apartment.

Police said the boy, who is around 4-foot and 44 pounds, was last seen at around 5:30 p.m. near his home on Wyndtree Drive.
