Karel Vejmelka had arguably the best game of his career as he recorded 49 saves in the Utah Hockey Club's victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Karel Vejmelka made a career-high 49 saves and the Utah Hockey Club scored three goals within a 2:19 span in the third period for a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday in Salt Lake City.

“Veggie! Veggie!” chanted the crowd at the Delta Center at various points throughout the third period. That’s in reference to goaltender Karel Vejmelka — “Veggie” for short — who posted a career-high 49 saves and helped his team kill 11 minutes’ worth of penalties in the final frame.
